Kitchen Tips & Tricks

To keep fresh herbs from wilting too quickly, store tender herbs like cilantro, parsley, and mint in a glass of water, just like a bouquet. Trim the stems, place them in about an inch of water, and loosely cover them with a plastic bag before refrigerating (except for basil, which should stay at room temperature). Alternatively, wrap them in a slightly damp paper towel and store them in a resealable bag in the crisper drawer. Changing the water every few days helps maintain freshness for up to two weeks.
For hardy herbs like rosemary, thyme, and oregano, skip the water and wrap them in a dry paper towel inside an airtight bag or container in the fridge. For longer storage, chop them and freeze in an ice cube tray with olive oil or water—perfect for soups and sauces. These methods can extend herb life significantly, saving money and reducing waste!

Garlic Butter Herb Chicken

Ingredients:
2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 4 small)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions:
Season & Sear: Pat chicken dry, season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, cook chicken 4-5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.

Make the Sauce: Reduce heat, add butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Finish Cooking: Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, cover, and cook 3-5 minutes until internal temp reaches 165°F. Stir in lemon juice and garnish with parsley.

Serve & Enjoy: Let rest for a few minutes before slicing. Pair with roasted veggies or a fresh salad!
